My business..........
My aim is to work full-time at making furniture and other woodland products. Inevitably, it's slow work growing a sole-trading business. However, the love of the workshop, the woodland environment, and the fun of having a website with a blog page is great.
If you have visited my website, you will see that my style is freeform and contemporary. It's exploratory too, as I hope to involve other materials. Primarily though, wood is my medium - mostly Ash from local small wooded valleys, and currently, some small diametre Yew from a nearby church yard.
Through this page I hope to meet other artisan craft workers, and customers/collectors who appreciate the methods as well as the product. For instance is there anyone out there who has developed a 'Slow Furniture Movement' yet? I heard there might be a connection with the 'Slow Food Movement'. Please post me if you know.
I also grow willow on a small scale, and this week my first sale was to a local primary school who are going to make a living willow sculpture. A pleasing addition to my Natural Chairs business.
